Another Change to Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue
Recently, Disney announced a change to the Virtual Queue for Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Instead of having to be in the Park when the queue went live at 10 am, the queue was live at 7 am and Guests were not required to be inside the Park to get one of those coveted Boarding Groups. Today, another change has been announced – while not as significant as the last change, it’s still important to note.
Beginning Sunday, December 20, the second Virtual Queue for Rise of the Resistance will begin at 1 pm. Currently, it begins at 2 pm. However, everything else will stay the same as you will still be required to be INSIDE the Park to access the virtual queue and gain get a Boarding Group assigned.

it’s also important to note that like always, to join the 7 am or 1 pm Virtual Queue for Rise of the Resistance, all Guests 3 and over must have a valid admission and a Disney Park Pass reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Access to a Boarding Group is also subject to availability and never guaranteed.

In my two times riding Rise of the Resistance, I was able to join the Virtual Queue. The first time, I received my Boarding Group in the early release, which was at 10 am inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios. On the second day, I was able to score a Boarding Group during the second drop of the day which was at 2 pm. So, remember, if you do not get in the early drop, you still have a second change during the second drop which will be at 1 pm EST beginning this Sunday.
