Groot Confirmed For Thor: Love and Thunder
It looks like we won’t have to wait until Guardians of the Galaxy 3 before we get a chance to see Star-Lord, Groot and the gang on the big screen. We last saw our Marvel friends during Avengers: Endgame and it looks like they might continue to lend a helping hand to their superhero friends with the news that Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Groot (Vin Diesel) will be making an appearance in upcoming Thor film Love and Thunder.
According to a recent piece in ComingSoon.net, the upcoming Thor sequel is currently in pre-production in Australia. This week a new video was released by paparazzi of Vin Diesel arriving by private plane at an airport in Sydney.
Putting two and two together, it seems likely that Groot will be joining Star-Lord in Thor: Love and Thunder making him the second confirmed Guardian to appear in Taika Waititi’s upcoming MCU film.
The official casting shouldn’t come as a shock as earlier this year Diesel did confirm that some of the Guardians would appear in the film.
For Thor: Love and Thunder Waititi is back at the helm and the script has been written by him along with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. The film will pick up where Thor: Ragnarok left off.

We also know that Natalie Portman will be making a return to the franchise as Jane who now gets a chance to wield the Mjolnir. Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson will of course be returning as Thor and Valkyrie and Christian Bale will be the baddie in the film. The film is expected to be based on the comic book storyline “The Mighty Thor” where Jane Foster takes over Thor’s powers.
Originally slated to debut next November, Thor: Love and Thunder is now slated to hit cinemas in February of 2022.
