Star Lord Will Return in “Thor: Love and Thunder”
Both of the Chrises will be back for the upcoming Marvel movie “Thor: Love and Thunder”. Hemsworth, of course, was a given returning as Thor, but now we know Chris Pratt will make an appearance as Star Lord. The two were last together in the 2019 “Avengers: Endgame” and based on the last scene of that movie, its not a surprise to fans there is a Guardians/Thor crossover for this new installment.
Star Lord
Fans have been unsure of when they would see Pratt’s Star Lord again. The next Guardians of the Galaxy film has been delayed, not because of COVID, but due to disagreement between Disney and director James Gunn. Star Lord, the self-designated leader of the Guardians, was definitely not fond of Thor when they first met in the Avengers franchise.
Love and Thunder
“Thor: Love and Thunder” is set to be directed by Taika Waititi, the very same director who had his hand in the massively successful “Thor: Ragnarok”. Fans know Natalie Portman will reprise her role as Jane Foster and also on board for the movie is Christian Bale. Bale will play “a villainous role”, but specifics are still not know. Also, coming back is Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie. She was last seen when Thor left her ruler of the new Asgard.
Plot details of the movie have been kept quiet, but both Star Lord and Thor have provided many laughs for fans and often proved to be comic relief among some very serious story-lines. With Waititi at the helm, I’m sure Star Lord’s and Thor’s interactions will continue to be “not always of the serious nature”.
“Thor: Love and Thunder” is slated for release in 2022.
