Photos: Santa’s Cavalcade at Hollywood Studios
Santa has been on the move lately. He appeared at the Magic Kingdom in his sleigh flanked by a team of reindeer and now he has been spotted at Disney’s Hollywood Studios making his way down Sunset Boulevard in a different kind of sleigh. But rest assured…it’s definitely bright red!
The first glimpse of the Santa Cavalcade are his happy elves dressed in Christmas colors and carrying Christmas packages. They are dancing down the street ahead of Santa. These Cavalcades are Disney’s answer to not being able to have full Christmas parades in the parks this year due to restrictions associated with COVID-19. The cavalcades are shorter and give guests less of a chance to gather closely for long periods of time. They are also unannounced.
So, when you hear the music, hop up onto the sidewalk and wait to see which Cavalcade is coming. This one was hard to miss as Santa was riding in a Candy-Cane red convertible.
The Big Man’s car was covered in Christmas decorations, with holly on the wheels and a big “S” on the side and hood.
He waved and of course guests could hear that iconic laugh “Ho Ho Ho” as he cruised through Hollywood Studios.
His “sleigh” was full of packages and we are all assuming they are toys for good little boys and girls. A reminder to remain on the “nice” list this year.
Other cavalcades at Disney’s Hollywood Studios include Mickey and Friends and Disney Junior. The characters in these cavalcades also ride on convertible cars that are painted and decorated for there specific character. Guests were happy to see Santa emerge as the first holiday cavalcade seen in the Studios.
Hollywood studios is all decked out for Christmas. The tree is up, the ornaments are floating in Echo Lake and even Gertie the dinosaur is wearing her Santa Hat. Tis the Season to visit Walt Disney World for some holiday cheer.
