Work Continues On Stage In Front of Cinderella Castle At Magic Kingdom
If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog then you’ll know that yesterday we reported that sightlines for your Cinderella Castle photos at Magic Kingdom may be impacted by a new stage that is currently being built at the forecourt area.
We were back at the park again today and can report further updates have been mate to the stage area.
The set-up consists of stages on both the right and left-hand side of the castle.
During today’s visit we noticed that the stage area is now adorned with fencing at the top and the scaffolding is covered in purple fabric.
Oh and get this. There’s also a rope bridge! This bridge has hand railings and connects the left and right parts of the stage.
You can get a closer look at the bridge below.
The entire area is being well guarded by Cast Members at the moment as has a green partition around it.
We spoke to the cast members yesterday who didn’t have a ton of specifics on what the stage set-up was for but said that they had been told it was for a television special. ABC does do an annual holiday broadcast at Disney and maybe they are still planning on doing a toned-down version this year.
For those interested in getting a coveted photo in front of the castle, you may want to dip around to the Fantasyland side and capture your snaps there.
Our MickeyBlogger also noticed some purple slides placed to the far right of the stage.
How they will be used in the future we aren’t quite sure but it looks like a Disney version of chutes and ladders just now!
We’ll be visiting the theme parks weekly in the lead-in to Christmas and we promise to let you know as soon as we’ve found out more about the mystery of this Forecourt Stage set-up.
As you know, Magic Kingdom is doing a rather subdued version of Christmas this year and in addition due to COVID-19 has made the decision to keep all of their stage shows closed.
That leads us to assume to it has to be for an after hours filming event!
And before we go, here’s one shot looking down Main Street USA where you can already see a lot of the Christmas decorations adding a big dose of holiday magic!
