Disney+ Adds ‘Share’ Feature
Disney+ has added a ‘share’ feature to the streaming platform. This will give their subscribers the ability to share links and titles with others on social media.
In order to share content, subscribers must tap the “Share’ button found on the title’s details page, then select the preferred platform they would like to share it to (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or messaging app). The new sharing feature will compose a message or subscribers can create their own personal message.

The recipient can then click on the link, but they won’t be able to view the content unless they are Disney+ subscribers themselves.
Disney reported 60.5 million subscribers worldwide for Disney Plus as of Aug. 3, just under nine months after the service first debuted and hitting a target the company had previously forecast reaching by 2024.
Recently, Disney+ has added an on-screen content advisory to films that include “negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures.” The message displays prior to several films including Lady and the Tramp, Jungle Book Aristocats, Dumbo, Peter Pan, and Swiss Family Robinson.
The content advisory reads:
“This program includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures. These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now. Rather than remove this content, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together. Disney is committed to creating stories with inspirational and aspirational themes that reflect the rich diversity of the human experience around the globe. To learn more about how stories have impacted society, please visit www.disney.com/StoriesMatter.”
Warner Bros has given content warnings for years. It was only a matter of time before Disney+ jumped on board as well.
