Ceremonial House Wooden Structure Starting To Come Down at the Polynesian Resort
Our MickeyBlogger is on the scene at Walt Disney World again today where he managed to capture some shots of work starting on the big refurbishment coming to the Great Ceremonial House at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
As you can see from the two images above construction workers are already starting to remove the large wooden beams on top of the Great Ceremonial House. This entire building will be updated.
A big crane has been moved onsite to help hoist the beems.
However, throughout the refurbishment this will continue to remain the area that guests will check-in/out of during your stay at The Poly
We were still able to enter the property at the car port. With the crane just in the background.
There were lots of signs of construction happening on the property.
Workers were busy lugging materials to the area.
Once inside, the Ceremonial House, things look much the same.
However, there is signage throughout the Ceremonial House letting guests know of the construction.
Especially at the entrances and exists.
The monorail entrance has also been completely blocked off. This is one of the areas of the resort that is getting a complete overhaul.
Guests staying on property during the refurbishment must rely on alternate transportation when getting to and from the Magic Kingdom.
Among the changes to the building will be a new porte cochere that has been designed to showcase the iconic mid-20th century architecture of the Poly.
Plans for the new monorail station include bold new wooden screens that have been covered with geometric patterns in bright, tropical colors forming a vibrant and artistic new composition that will greet you when you arrive.
Changes will also be made to the entryway including dramatic new lighting elements. A focal point will be new chandeliers inspired by glass floats, fishing nets and oversized bamboo elements.
