Marvel: Star Wars 2021 Comic Preview
Okay. Ok. Is ANYONE ELSE ready to start talking about 2021? How about talking about Star Wars in 2021?
Me too. So let’s do this.
Next year, Star Wars comics open up canon with some off-screen stories that will knock your socks off.
Marvel: Star Wars Comics – Who Haunts Darth Vader?
Or, in the case of Darth Vader, the stories will knock your legs off.
Case in point? The cover below.
Just try to unpack that image.
The Dark Lord of the Sith. He’s got at least one replacement prosthetic leg. Definitely one new prosthetic arm. Is he leading or surrounded by Clone Wars-era battle droids? And who is about to challenge him from above.
And, by the way, the art is gorgeous.
Can’t Wait For Marvel Comics In 2021
Listen up, True Believers, this is what StarWars.com has to say about the doings in a galaxy far, far away….
There’s no slowing down for Marvel’s Star Wars line come next year.
StarWars.com is thrilled to offer a first look at solicits for the House of Ideas’ January 2021 Star Wars comics, including the flagship Star Wars series, Darth Vader, Bounty Hunters, and Doctor Aphra.
The latter finds Aphra encountering a familiar face, while the Sith Lord returns to Mustafar in Darth Vader, along with even more surprises across Marvel’s critically-acclaimed titles.
The good folks at The Mothership gave us a bunch of previews, but I’ll only show you one.

“OPERATION STARLIGHT, PART 2 (OF 3)” – REELING FROM THE LOSS OF ONE OF THEIR OWN, THE REBELS FINALLY SEE A PATH FORWARD!
- THE REBELS attempt to create a new communications code that THE EMPIRE will never be able to crack, in hopes that they might be able to safely reunite their scattered fleet and rejoin the fight.
- However, the code has a cost, one that LANDO CALRISSIAN is not willing to pay!
- Meanwhile, STARLIGHT SQUADRON, the group of elite pilots tasked with finding the scattered divisions of the fleet, heads out on its first deadly mission.
Again, look at the cover. Luke freaking Skywalker — golden lightsaber — space battle in the background. And, what is that design?
Hmm.
Have we seen it before?
Well, that’s my tease.
Be sure to head back to StarWars.com for more on the upcoming slate of Star Wars comics for 2021.
