FIRST LOOK: Behind the Scenes of NEW Star Wars Show ‘The Acolyte’
Details are emerging about a series that has been under wraps with Disney. Here’s your first look behind the scenes of the new Star Wars show, The Acolyte!

In 2020, it was announced that an original series would be coming to Disney+. Today, exciting new details were released about the galactic show.
The Acolyte‘s plot focuses on the final days of the High Republic era. A mystery-thriller, it will give viewers an inside look at the dark side as it emerges with its secrets and agendas.
A series of crimes will be investigated by a former Padawan and her Jedi Master. Together, they will confront evil forces that prove to be much more evil than they expected.

StarWars official website shares, “The High Republic saw the Jedi Order at its prime, centuries prior to the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. You can learn more about this era at StarWars.com’s official hub for all things High Republic.
Behind the Scenes
Today, Disney announced The Acolyte‘s cast. Previously, news broke that Amandla Stenberg would play the lead in the series.

Joining her will be Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game), Manny Jacinto (Nine Perfect Strangers), Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials), Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll), Dean-Charles Chapman (1917), and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix).
Lucasfilm also released its first image from the set, featuring Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, and Leslye Headland. Headland wrote the series and serves as its director/showrunner.

Executive producers for the series include Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef. Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson are producing.
The Acolyte is currently underway, with production beginning in the U.K. Set to premiere exclusively on Disney+, a date has not yet been released.

Rumors have been circulating that it may debut sometime next year, although recently some have suggested it may not come out until 2024. This is all speculation of course.
