Upon Reopening, Disney’s Aulani Makes Modifications to Cancellation & Refund Policy
It was just announce this week that Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa in Hawaii would begin its phased reopening process on November 1, 2020! To give Guests extra piece of mind to think about traveling this year into next, Aulani has made temporary modifications to their cancellation and refund policy.
Guests many now cancel their Aulani vacation reservations up to 24 hours prior to their arrival date for stays through May 20, 2021 without any cancellation fees by Disney. this temporary modification applies to both “room only” bookings as well as packages.

Room only cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to scheduled arrival date, including no shows, a cancellation fee will be charged equal to the first night’s room rate plus tax. Aulani vacation packages cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to scheduled arrival date, including no shows, will be charged a fee of $400.

As mentioned, the above applies to stays through May 20, 2021. After May 20, 2021, the following cancellation and refund policies for Aulani will apply:
Room only cancellations must be made at least 5 days prior to arrival. For cancellations made 4 days or less before the scheduled arrival date, including no shows, a cancellation fee will be charged equal to the first night’s room rate plus tax.

For Aulani vacation packages or if you have booked other components with their room such as flight or car rental, the required time frame to cancel is 30 days or more. Beginning on the 29th day, a $400 cancellation fee would be chrged.
It is also important to note, that the above apply to room only and package bookings that have been booked directly through Aulani. Any fee imposed by third-party suppliers such as airlines, rental cars, and travel protection plans will be deducted from refundable amounts for Disney Travel Company Packages.
