Disneyland Discounts Are On The Way! Is its Reopening Imminent?
The Disneyland rumor mill is now in full swing with the news that a Disneyland theme park reopening date may be on the horizon! Reports started surfacing this afternoon that Disneyland is currently offering a discount promotion offering up to 35% off at two of its onsite hotel properties – Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel.
We reached out to the team at Disneyland this afternoon and DID receive confirmation that discounts of up to 35% are being offered on room only stays between October 16 and December 31,2020. The agent we spoke to said that the information should appear on the Disneyland website shortly and as of going to print the rooms ARE bookable.

We expect full details to emerge shortly and will post them as soon as we know more! It should be noted that the Disneyland Hotel IS EXCLUDED from the offer.
Room Only Reservations:
Guests should note that currently the discount is for ROOM ONLY reservations. This means that guests ARE NOT able to add Disneyland or Disney California theme park tickets to the booking.

This coincides with the fact that the theme parks are currently closed. We know that Disney Execs have been talking to Governor Gavin Newsom about reopening plans but as of now those have been kept private – sort of.
Could An Upcoming Room and Resort Package Discount Mean Disneyland Will Reopen Soon?
However, here is an interesting fact, when we spoke to a Disneyland team member this afternoon they said that ticket packages covering the same dates (Mid-October – End of December) may be available to book as early as the 28th of September.

This spells good news for those hoping to visit Disneyland Resort this year.
If the ticket packages run in tandem with resort room packages it means that the theme parks themselves good be shooting for an October reopening date and we SHOULD have a definitive answer on this by the end of the week.

Room Only:

Room & Ticket Packages:
However, if it is a ticket package you’re after, have hope and wait it out a bit longer. If packages are indeed released on or around the 28th, you can lock in your discount then. Disney DOES NOT give you the option of converting a room only reservation to a vacation package with tickets.
That means if you booked a room reservation now you’d have to cancel that reservation, get a refund and then rebook as a ticket package.
