Composer Tony Morales Looks Back On Elena Of Avalor
Morales’ thoughts on the end of “a dream come true”
Firstly, it feels like I just read about the debut of the series. Secondly, it seems crazy that Elena of Avalor is already 76 episodes deep!
And thirdly, you look up, and it’s over; it’s the final episode coming up on Sunday.
Meanwhile, after reading about the guy who composed the music for the series, my boys and I plan to watch reruns.
Goodbye Elena (And Tony)
Significantly, Animation Express’ Sharmindila Paul posted:
With the finale coronation special airing tomorrow, Sunday, 23 August on Disney Junior, Emmy-nominated music composer Tony Morales [reflected] on his fulfilling musical journey with the series…
As a Mexican-American composer, he is honored to have had the opportunity to work on a show related to the Latinx community. A father to two young girls, it has been more fulfilling for him to create the score for Disney’s first Latina princess.
With Elena of Avalor, he was able to craft music… [that] highlights the exciting story arc of Elena’s journey to become queen.
Morales On Elena
Most importantly, Morales told Animation Express:
[I]t still doesn’t seem real. It’s like a crazy dream come true. I never thought I’d be able to say that I have been a composer on a Disney project and now I can. Elena of Avalor will be implemented into the Disney parks like Disneyland (California), Disney World (Florida) and many more.
Explaining Elena of Avalor
Finally, for those unfamiliar with the show, the boilerplate reads:
The Emmy® Award-winning “Elena of Avalor” is an animated series that follows the story of Elena, a brave and adventurous teenager who saves her kingdom from an evil sorceress and must now learn to rule as crown princess until she is old enough to be queen. Set in Avalor, an enchanted fairytale kingdom inspired by diverse Latin cultures and folklore, Elena’s journey will lead her to understand that her new role requires thoughtfulness, resilience, and compassion, the traits of all truly great leaders.
Thank goodness for Disney+. No?
