With two of Disney’s four theme parks officially open for business and two more slated to open on Wednesday, here at MickeyBlog we’ve spent a lot of time talking about all of the changes that Disney has made in order to keep guests safe and socially distanced while at the theme parks. This includes everything from temperature checks to making facemasks required for all guests visiting the parks.
We’ve already talked about a new team of Cast Members that will be on hand to cheerfully enforce social distancing policies throughout the parks. However, Disney has recently come up with another way and it’s been making the rounds on social media.
According to a recent piece on CNN, Guests will not receive their ride photos if they are not wearing a mask on the attraction. The news network spoke to a representative from Disney who confirmed that the company has an existing policy of suppressing photos if someone is doing something unsafe on a ride. In this day and age, with COVID-19 cases on the ride, not wearing a face mask is consistent with this policy.
CNN went on to ask Disney about there policies regarding guests who may have passed the temperature checks but are perhaps feeling unwell at the parks. According to Disney, it is asking all guests to be socially responsible and leave if they feel ill. The company also advised that they have “robust protocols” in place and will address each situation on a case by case basis. As we previously reported here at MickeyBlog health screenings including temperature checks are in place before the guests enter the parks. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 will not be along into the parks – neither will their travelling party.
Over the pass week Disney is starting to get pushback on their reopening plans with many arguing that it just isn’t safe with COVID-19 cases on the rise. Florida had more than 15,000 new cases reported by the state on Friday with 553 new patients hospitalized Sunday.
This is a story that we’ll continue to follow closley here at MickeyBlog. Readers are encouraged to keep checking in with us for further news and updates!
