BREAKING NEWS: Former Disney Employee Paid Out $100,000 in Fradulent Refunds To Friends and Family

A Disney employee is being charged with grand theft after misdirecting more than $100,000 into her personal bank account as well as those of friends and family!. Jennifer Alejandra Insuasti, 32 of Kissimmee actually worked in a role for the Walt Disney Company where she was tasked with issuing refunds to unhappy customers.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement officially charged Insuasti on Monday and she turned herself in. According to a recent piece on WESH, Insuasti worked as a Guest Experience Services Coordinator for the company. Part of her remit was to field complains from unhappy guests and then offer them refunds, free tickets or free resort stays to resolve the issues.

Investigators said that Disney handed over records showing 41 fraudulent debit or credit card refunds and four fraudulent check refunds. However, it should be noted that the money was not being taken from guests but rather directly from Disney. The incidents apparently occurred between March 2016 and June 2018.

According to reports Insuasti created a system whereby she would use refund accounts as a cover to redirect money into personal accounts. Friends and family who received the funds are also being investigated by the FDLE. This includes Insuasti’s brother, sister and brother-in-law as well as three others. They could be charged with conspiracy and grand theft.

Insuasti is currently being held at Osceola County Jail. Her bail has been set at $100,000.
