Cameron Boyce’s Mom Makes Tearful Instagram Post on Late Actor’s 21st Birthday
Yesterday, Thursday May 28th beloved Disney star and philanthropist Cameron Boyce would have turned 21 years of age. His mother Libby Boyce, took to Instagram to leave a poignant message on this important date and to continue to raise awareness for The Cameron Boyce Foundation which was set up in the late actor’s honor.
Libby says in the video, “Everybody, I’m just reading all the notes on The Cameron Boyce Foundation page of all of the comments with the donations and I am just really blown away — really blown away by all the amazing comments and how many people loved Cameron.” Libby went on to add tearfully, “You know, I just really wanted to say thank you and it’s so appreciated and we really will be doing amazing things so his death is not in vain. Thank you.”
As we previously reported here at MickeyBlog, Cameron Boyce passed away at the age of 20 last July. Boyce was diagnosed with epilepsy. In a statement released at the time, his family said, “It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron.” His family added, “He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated. The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.”
The news of Boyce’s death shook the Disney community last Summer. Many Disney fans had grown up alongside Boyce watching him in shows like Jessie, Bunk’d and of course the massively popular Descendants franchise.
As US Weekly tells us, In his final interview before his untimely death, the Disney Channel star opened up about his passion for giving back and creating positive change. Boyce said, “It’s the greatest way to fulfil yourself,” he told Haute Living in May 2019. “Every time I talk to someone who shares that similar passion, we talk about how there aren’t many feelings more euphoric. Changing someone else’s life positively changes yours for the better as well.”
Many fans and colleagues of Boyce have rallied around his charity to keep is the dedication to generosity alive. As you can see from the post above, Dove Cameron, Booboo Stewart and other Disney regulars created the video above to advertise a limited-edition merchandise collection with proceeds going to the charity.
Happy Birthday, Cameron, you are missed by so many of us every day!
