Thunderbirds Fly Over Disneyland As Part Of Salute To Frontline Healthcare Workers
The picture above captures a moment of beauty over Disneyland Resort this morning even though the theme parks remain closed to the public. You can see the renowned Thunderbirds flying in formation over Disneyland as part of an initiative that pays tribute to those on the frontlines in the fight against COVID-19.
Check out the official Tweet from Disney here:
The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds soared over the Disneyland Resort on Friday. The #AmericaStrong flyover served as a salute to frontline COVID-19 responders in California. Even though our parks are temporarily closed, we continue to salute those who serve. pic.twitter.com/RDNZeBI1wK

Thunderbirds commander Lt. Col. John Caldwell said this regarding the flyover, “It is an honor for our team to salute the countless Californians who have committed to keeping the communities safe during this difficult time in our nation. We hope to give onlookers a touching display of American resolve that honors those serving on the frontline our fight against COVID-19.”
According to a report in the Air Force Time, the flyovers are meant to serve as a morale boost for citizens who have been staying at home to limit the spread of the coronavirus. The Thunderbirds last flew over San Antonio and Austin last week and before that New York City, Washington, Baltimore and Atlanta.
As of going to print, the theme parks around the country remain closed. The Walt Disney Company has not yet made an official announcement about when they are expected to reopen. However, Shanghai Disney Resort was the first Disney theme park to officially reopen last week and Disney has just announced plans to reopen Disney Springs their Downtown Shopping district on May 20th.
