Sylvester Stallone To Get Own ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Series on Disney+
Yesterday the internet was abuzz with the news the Sylvester Stallone will be getting his own Disney+ series based around the character of Stakar from Guardians of the Galaxy.
As site We Got This Covered reminds us, Vol 2. features numerous post-credit scenes featuring Stallone’s character indicating that maybe something more significant was in the works for the action star.
If you remember, Stallone appeared alongside a team-based around the original comic which featured the following characters: Martinex (Michael Rosenbaum’s Martinex), Charlie – 27 (Ving Rhames), Aleta Ogord (Michelle Yeoh) and Mainframe played by Miley Cyrus. At the time of the post-credits scene, there was much speculation as to whether this was merely a cameo or whether the famous team was brought together for other reasons.
Well according to reports we may have an answer. We’re told that not only will Sylvester Stallone and his band of Ravagers have a role to play in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, apparently they are going to star in their own Disney+ series. Though few details are known about the project, it is expected that the events will take place after the three Guardians films.
As We Got This Covered suggests the plot might center around the team trying to save a planet from being taken over by a Kree invasion. Here at MickeyBlog, we are excited about the possibility of this series becoming a reality. However, with Guardians of the Galaxy 3 not coming out until August of 2021 and with a slew of other Marvel projects currently in the pipeline including She-Hulk, Loki and WandaVision it may be a while before we see the series on Disney’s streaming service.
That being said, this is a story that we’ll be following closely. Keep checking in with MickeyBlog for the latest Marvel and Disney-related news and updates!
