Furthermore, the film has gained a new audience through the Disney+ streaming platform.
Rick Moranis on Prop Culture
Prop Culture explores some of the most interesting and exciting props used in popular films. Honey, I Shrunk the Kids certainly has its fair share of wild props, however, Rick Moranis reveals that he would only take certain souvenirs from his films:
“The only thing that I did save from movies I was in because I was using prescription glasses, I would usually take a pair of glasses. And I pretty much have a pair of glasses for every film that I did… I also kept a couple of 8×10 photos. Used them as things to raise money for auctions and various things, and send to fans, stuff like that.”
In his interview with Dan Lanigan, Moranis also revealed how important props are to actors and what a critical role they play in films. “You have to have all the tools that you need: costumes, props, helmets, to be able to build a character. Absolutely critical.”
The interview gives viewers a refreshing opportunity to see Moranis again since he has largely been out of the spotlight in recent years. If you haven’t had the opportunity to check out Prop Culture yet, be sure to do so! You can view the trailer below:
