Push Notification Now Appearing On My Disney Experience To Confirm Disney World Still Closed
Over the past few day we here at MickeyBlog have been sharing all of the changes coming up as part of Governor Ron DeSantis’ commitment to re-open Florida. A phased re-opening has been planned for the state with Phase 1 slated to start next week.
Though some Florida businesses are being given the go-ahead to re-open effective next Monday, the first phase of the state’s plan does not include theme parks. With this in mind, Disney has recently added a push notification to My Disney Experience reiterating that the parks will continue to remain closed until further notice.
Guests that receive the notification and click on the Learn More button are then taken to Disney World’s Closure FAQ with the same “Closed Until Further Notice” messaging.
This would appear to be an additional measure put in place due to the increase in queries regarding re-opening now that Florida is pushing forward with plans.
So When Will Disney Reopen?
The answer to that question is that we simply don’t know yet. In the guidelines put forth by the State of Florida Task Force, theme park reopenings are not included in Phase 1 of the plan. Once cases decline while testing and medical resources increase, the government will make the decision to move to Phase 2.
As part of this stage, the theme parks are given the freedom to re-open with recommended sanitation practices put into place. However, it should be noted that the re-opening is at the theme park’s discretion. This means that Disney can decide if and when it wants to open once the state is in Phase 2.
For a complete rundown of the different opening phases and what this means for the theme parks, you can check out the Task Force report in its entirety here: Taskforce-Report
This is a story that we’ll continue to follow closely here at MickeyBlog and we promise to keep you posted as soon as Disney moves toward a re-opening of the theme parks. So keep following along!
