VIDEO: Shanghai Disney Testing Fireworks for Hopeful Reopen
Shanghai Disneyland has been closed since late January due to the COVID-19 outbreak that has swept the entire world. Following healthcare guidelines, the park is to remain closed until further notice, but Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, Disneytown, and Wishing Star Park re-opened with limited operations on March 9th.

Shanghai Disneyland still remains temporarily closed until further notice due to the Coronavirus outbreak, but some shopping, dining, and recreational activities in Disneytown, Wishing Star Park and Shanghai Disneyland Hotel will re-opened with limited operations, including limited capacity and reduced hours of operation.
Shanghai Disneyland closed back on January 25th due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus/COVID-19. As of going to print, thousands of cases of this new respiratory illness have been confirmed in China. The virus is believed to have originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan. This is a large family of viruses of which the common cold is one but can also be linked to stronger strains such as SARS and MERS.
