Take a Closer Look At New Disney+ Show ‘Secret Society of Second-Born Royals’
Entertainment Weekly recently ran a piece providing us with closer look at “Secret Society of Second-Born Royals,’ a new show coming to Disney+ this Summer. Let’s just say we couldn’t be more excited!
This new sci-fi fantasy film centers around Sam (Andy Mack’s Peyton Elizabeth Lee) a rebellious teen living in the kingdom of Illyria. She lives her life in the shadows of older sister Princess Eleanor (Ashley Liao) who is next in line for the royal throne.

PEYTON ELIZABETH LEE
In an interview with EW Lee said, “Sam has always felt like not only is she second born, but she is also second best.” Lee adds, “She is struggling to find where she can shine and where she belongs.” During the film, she quickly finds out that being a second-born has its own set of perks. For a start, she gets superpowers – and that’s where things start to get excited.
You see Sam soon links up with a top-secret group of other second-born royals who are tasked with keeping the world safe!

This new class of trainees is headed up by Professor James Morrow a second-born royal himself. Played by Skylar Astin, he had this to say of the role, “He is such a fun character and provides a little levity to this otherwise fantasy action movie.” Astin adds that his role is not only to teach these new recruits about their superpowers but all the value of teamwork.

As for Astin, his superpower is being able to multiply. This makes him a pretty effective instructor when it comes to teaching and combat. Astin said this of tackling his character’s multiple personalities, “I made sure to make certain versions of him more eager, certain ones more serious. In a fight scene, there’s one that’s more aggressive. My mother is going to love this movie because there will be 20 of me.”

The mission of the movie requires the second-born-royals to go toe-to-toe with a shadowy villain who has eyes on the crown and after that world domination. This super baddie is known simply as Inmate 34 a recently escaped prison convict.
