Disney recently provided PEOPLE magazine with some behind-the-scenes insights from It’s a Dog’s Life and here at MickeyBlog we’re excited to pass those on to you!
The show is slated to make it’s Disney+ debut on May 14th. Farmer told PEOPLE that viewers of “It’s a Dog’s Life” can expect dogs with “odd and adorable jobs.” One such example are the dogs that work at Cincinatti Zoo who are matched with baby cheetahs to help the zoo teach their big cats how to socialize! “They come to love each other,” Farmer said of the sibling-like bond that forms between cat and dog.
Then, there’s Eba who is a whale-poop-sniffing dog at Washington’s San Juan Island. Eba is a Jack Russel terrier/pitbull mix who helps the University of Washington study the decline of the whale population. He sniffs out the whale’s poop in the water so that scientists can gather details about the whale population and hopefully help the whale species to thrive.
And these are just two of the remarkable canines you’ll find in Its a Dog’s Life which offers a family-friendly platform to learn more about these extraordinary animals!
Oh, and in case you were wondering, the 10- week series will also feature appearances from Pluto and Goofy who teach Disney+ subscribers all about being a responsible pet owner!
Farmer, who is a Disney Legend for his outstanding contribution at making Disney characters come to life told People, “I am constantly amazed at what dogs can do. ” And most importantly he hits home the idea that rescue dogs are important too, “About 90% of the dogs featured on the show are rescue dogs.”
