Indulge In the Flavors of New Orleans Aboard The Disney Wonder
The Disney Wonder just made its final departure from New Orleans during her inaugural season sailing out of the Big Easy. It’s sad to see the sailings out of the Crescent City come to a close for the year but we’ve got great news! The Wonder will be returning to New Orleans in 2021.
Just like the magic you’ll find around every corner in the French Quarter, onboard the Disney Wonder, guests will experience the same jazz-infused fun year-round with special dining and entertainment options. Kids will also love elements incorporated into your dining experiences from the much-loved film The Princess and the Frog.
At Tiana’s Place Disney Cruise Line’s culinary team invites guests to enjoy the flavors of Creole and Cajun cuisine with a menu that draws its inspiration from the region. Tiana’s is also brimming with character. You’ll see one of your favorite stories come to life through storytelling, live jazz and entertainment. You’ll even find magical touches found throughout the restaurant. This includes water-lily-shaped candle holders and specially themed dinnerware.
Tiana is passionate about her restaurant, so our chefs have cooked up some of her favorite recipes for you to enjoy. Here are some of our top picks:
Cajun Spiced Sea Bass– Served with shrimp jambalaya, crisp fennel salad, and remoulade sauce.
Charlotte La Bouff’s Bucatini Pasta is another flavorful option. Served with pancetta, oyster mushrooms, eggplant, spinach, peas, basil and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, it’s another can’t miss!
Tiana’s Buttermilk Beignets – These iconic treats are the signature dessert for Mardi Gras night in the restaurant. They’re dusted with powder sugar and served with chocolate espresso dipping sauce -sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. Can’t wait until the Mardi Gras celebration? You can enjoy this treat throughout the cruise by ordering them at the French Quarter Lounge.
Southern Style Pecan Nut Tart- This classic New Orleans treat will leave you grinnin’ like a possum ’til the sun comes up!
French Quarter Lounge
At this watering hole, you’ll find rousing jazz music perfect for dancing the night away and sipping on a New Orleans-themed speciality drink. Fans of Princess and the Frog will also notice a tip of the hat to the smooth-talking “shadow man,” Dr. Facilier in the decor of this lounge.
The La Bouff Favorite
This is the perfect place to pick up a coffee of your choice. We recommend the Café Au Lait? – served with beignets, a chocolate truffle, macaroon, madeleine, caramel chocolate sauce and Evangeline Praline liquor. In place of the liquor, guests of all ages can enjoy a Dr. Facilier potion!
Old New Orleans Fashion
If you’re on the hunt for a delicious cocktail look no further than this twist on a classic Old Fashion cocktail. Disney’s version is blended with Bayou XO Rum, a touch of whisky, smoked sugar and Angostura bitters.
This sophisticated cocktail combines French Lillet rose vermouth with California Chandon sparkling wine for an elegant, passionfruit flavor.
Choose from three small bites to pair with a serving of Lillet Blanc, Lillet Rosé or Lillet Rouge and tonic water.
Are ya ready? From the live music to the activities to these speciality treats served at the French Quarter Lounge, we know you’ll be satisfied!
And imagine, this is just a mere sampling of what you’ll enjoy when letting the good times roll at Tiana’s Place and the French Quarter Lounge.
