Could a New Disney Dining Plan Be On Its Way?
Disney Dining Plans have always been a fantastic way to make your Walt Disney World vacation package all-inclusive and even save a little bit in the process! However, one of the common complaints we get about the dining plans is that the regular version doesn’t offer enough food and the deluxe plan offers too much! If current online rumors are to be believed Disney may be working on a way to remedy that!
Various sites are reporting that in addition to the three dining plans on offer (Quick Service Dining, Disney Dining Plan and Deluxe Disney Dining Plan) Disney will be offering a fourth! This new plan dubbed the “Dining Plan Plus” is meant to bridge the gap between the Disney Dining Plan and Deluxe Disney Dining Plan and will offer the following:
- 2 Dining Plan Credits per person per day (Can be used for Quick Serice OR Table Service Dining including character meals)
- 2 Snack Credits per person per day
- 1 Refillable Resort Mug per person
This plan would seem to be the perfect option for guests that like the freedom and flexibility that the Deluxe Plan has to offer without having to commit to the three meals per day.
Let’s take a quick look at how this new plan would stack up against the three existing plans:
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan
- 2 Quick Service Credits per person per night of stay
- 2 Snack Credits per person per night of stay
- 1 Refillable Resort Mug per person
Cost: (as of 2/23/20) $55 per adult per night, $26 per child per night
Disney Dining Plan
- 1 Quick Service Credit per person per night of stay
- 1 Table Service Credit per person per night of stay
- 2 Snack Credits per person per night of stay
- 1 Refillable Resort Mug per person
Cost: (as of 2/23/20) $78 per adult per night, $35.50 per child per night
RUMORED: Dining Plan Plus
- 2 Dining Plan Credits per person per day (Can be used for Quick Serice OR Table Service Dining including character meals)
- 2 Snack Credits per person per day
- 1 Refillable Resort Mug per person
Cost: TBD
Deluxe Disney Dining Plan
- 3 Dining Plan Credits per person per day (Can be used for Quick Serice OR Table Service Dining including character meals)
- 2 Snack Credits per person per day
- 1 Refillable Resort Mug per person
Cost: (as of 2/23/20) $119 per adult per night and $47.50 per adult per night
What Will The Cost of the New Dining Plan Be?
Remember that this is all just a rumor at the moment and is based on information that is circulating online. However, the plan would fit somewhere between the cost of the Disney Dining Plan at $78.00 per adult and the Deluxe Dining Plan at $119 per adult.
When Will The New Dining Plan Plus Be Offered?
Again just a rumor! However, the murmurings that we’re hearing suggest that it COULD be available by the beginning of March. Here at MickeyBlog we want to be absolutely clear that this is all subject to change until Disney makes an official announcement!
If I’ve Already Booked Another Dining Plan But Want To Switch To Dining Plan Plus Will I Be Able To?
It’s all speculation until Disney makes an official announcement. However, historically guests have been able to make changes to your Disney Dining Plans right up until the 30-day mark whether that be upgrading or downgrading.
This is a story we’ll be watching closely here at MickeyBlog so keep following along for the latest news and updates.
