Look Back at the Fun and Festivities of Disney’s Marathon Week And Get Ready For RunDisney 2020
For those of you following along with MickeyBlog, you’ll know that runDisney kicked off the 2020 race schedule in style with the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. Participants showed up dressed as some of their favorite Disney characters for each of the events. Here’s a look at some of our favorite moments from the past weekend!
Pluto was back as the host of the mascot for the Walt Disney World 5K. Participants had a doggone good time on this exciting 3.1 mile course!
Next, it’s on to the 10K where participants hopped their way along the thrilling 6.2-mile run celebrating the original Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Many runners dressed the part as they celebrated their ‘hoppy’ ending to the weekend’s second event.
Then it’s on to the mighty Walt Disney World Half Marathon Run which has completely gone to the ducks! Donald Duck was the host for this 13.1-mile course!
Finishing out the most magical race weekend on the planet, participants ran 26.2 miles through all four theme parks during the Walt Disney World Marathon. As we mentioned previously here on MickeyBlog, Nick Hilton celebrated his second event win, capturing first place in the Male Division with a time of 2:22:19. Celebrating her fourth straight event win and fifth in the past six years, Giovanna Martins captured first place for the Female Division, posting a time of 2:54:19.
Last but not least we must celebrate the sheer ambition of all those runners who opted to compete in the 15th anniversary Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge or the Dopey Challenge!
To complete these challenges was an incredible feat with participants running either 39.3 or 48.6 miles over the weekend!
