New Stunnig Live-Action Mulan Poster Shows Divide Between Duty and Tradition
Disney’s live-action adaptation of Mulan is slated to hit theaters on March 27, 2020 and a stunning new poster for the film is making the rounds on social media. The image (which you can see below) was taken from the Korean poster for the film and showcases the heroine divided between her duties as a member of her family. On one side she’s the daughter her family was hoping for. On the other side, she’s wearing armor that has been passed down through her family. The sword featured in the film glows as it separates the images.

As we previously reported here at MickeyBlog, in Mulan, Disney is offering something different from the other live-action adaptations in that they are not going to simply offer a live-action update of the original. It will instead veer away from the musical format and offer a more serious dramatic look at this titular character.

Here’s the official description from Disney:
Mulan is the epic adventure of a fearless young woman who masquerades as a man in order to fight Northern Invaders attacking China. The eldest daughter of an honored warrior, Hua Mulan is spirited, determined and quick on her feet. When the Emperor issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army, she steps in to take the place of her ailing father as Hua Jun, becoming one of China’s greatest warriors ever.
Starring Yifei Liu, Donnie Yen, Jason Scott Lee, Gong Li, Yoson An and Jet Li, Mulan opens March 27, 2020.
