According to Mandalorian Creator Jon Favreau Baby Yoda Isn’t Actually Baby Yoda
One of the highlights that any Star Wars fan took away from the Golden Globe Awards last night was Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau’s admission that Baby Yoda is not actually Baby Yoda! Confused? Let us explain.
During an interview with USA Today, Favreau said that the loveable creature that has taken the streaming world by storm couldn’t possibly be the Jedi Master that trained Luke Skywalker because the timelines don’t line up. “The series timeline takes place after ‘Return of the Jedi,'” he told the new outlet at the Golden Globes. “And fans of the original trilogy will remember that Yoda not only passes away but actually disappears. So Yoda exists as a force ghost.”
So who exactly is this loveable little sprog? It’s too early to tell. Known as “The Child” or “The Asset” this adorable creature has come to be known as Baby Yoda which Favreau admits is the “easiest, shortest, most hashtaggable way” to identify the character, though it is also inaccurate.
