Though it’s been smooth sailing for Disney’s Skyliner system since it was back up and running this week, we may have an answer to the question of weather or not the Skyliner will shut down due to inclement weather. Various reports started popping up on Twitter this evening that Disney had shut down the Skyliner due to lightning and downpours in the area.
Thankfully we have a MickeyBlogger on the scene who did receive confirmation that guests where asked to exit the Skyliner at their nearest stop and switch to bus transportation due to a storm that was passing through
We did receive confirmation from Cast Members on the scene that the decision was made to shut down Skyliner operations and ask guests to disembark. The gondolas were down for a little over an hour but we can now report that they are back up and running.
It will be interesting to see how the Skyliner continues to operate during bad weather including heavy downpours, lightning storms and high winds which can be pretty common place in Orlando especially during Hurricane Season!
