Boy Who Spent Disney Fund To Help Hurricane Dorian Evacuees Surprised With Trip To Disney World
We’ve got a feel-good story to start you off this Monday morning! Six-year-old Jermaine Bell of Jacksonville, Florida spent more than a year saving up funds for a birthday trip to Walt Disney World. However, he made a change of plans when Hurricane Dorian swept across the Bahamas and Atlantic Coast last week. Jermaine’s self-less act in the wake of the Hurricane is something that should inspire us all!
As the hurricane approached the South Carolina coast, Jermaine bought hundreds of hot dogs, bags of chips and bottled water. He created a stand and served them free of charge to any hurricane evacuees who passed through the South Carolina town where he was visiting his grandmother. His willingness to give up his dream Disney getaway to help others quickly went viral drawing the attention of people around the world!
On Sunday, September 8th, Jermaine celebrated his 7th birthday and what a celebration it was! Disney caught wind of Jermaine’s story and surprised him with a visit from Mickey Mouse himself along with a group of Walt Disney World cast members! But that’s not all! Mickey and friends gave Jermaine the ultimate birthday present- a VIP getaway at Walt Disney World scheduled for later this month!
