Man Overboard System Possibly Being Tested Onboard Disney Cruise Ship
Recently, a video was taken by a passenger from the Disney Fantasy cruise ship that showed a test dummy tied to a rope and being dropped over the railing of a passenger balcony. The video has since been deleted. Many people questioned what was going on, and it seems to be a new test for a MOB system (man overboard).
They’re testing the man overboard alarms. They’ve got sensors and cameras that watch out for anyone that could fall from verandas.

The crew apparently dropped and retrieved the dummy several times.
Unlike most cruise lines, Disney has an automatic system due to the number of successful Disney search and rescue operations where overboard passengers have been saved at sea.
