Rafiki Helps Family With Baby Gender Reveal at Animal Kingdom Theme Park
Its been a tough week for Disney news with the passing of not one but two beloved Disney acting veterans, brawls at the theme parks, rabies at Disney World etc. That’s why we thought we’d share this delightful story of one family enlisting the help of the beloved baboon Rafiki from The Lion King to give their family members a VERY special surprise!
During a recent trip, Rachel Craig recorded a video show Rafiki at his meet and greet location at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park raising up a Nala doll to indicate to Rachel’s family that a baby girl is on the way.

You can see Craig’s daughter Paisley getting visibly excited over the news, jumping up and down before giving Rafiki a big hug! The whole moment is a delightful reference to Rafiki’s role in The Lion King when he held up the newborn Simba for all the kingdom to see.
This was a particularly poignant moment for the expectant parents who got engaged at the Magic Kingdom several years ago thus keeping the tradition of sharing special moments at Disney alive!
