Everything You Need To Know About Disney World’s Lost and Found System
Even at the Happiest Place on Earth, not so magical things can happen. Whether you left your brand new souvenir behind, misplaced your sunglasses or forgot your purse, Walt Disney World has an entire system in place to reunite you lost items. To keep you in the know in the unlikely event that you lose an item at Walt Disney World here’s everything you need to know about Disney’s Lost and Found procedure.
In the event that you lose an item at any of the Walt Disney World theme parks, Disney Springs, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Disney Water Parks or on Disney Resort transportation (including buses, monorails and watercraft) should follow these steps:
Walt Disney World Resort uses Chargerback to help track lost and found items.
- The first step is to fill out a lost item report, available here.
- Once you’ve submitted the form, you’ll receive an email notification with your Lost Item claim number.
- Disney’s team will continue to look for your item and provide you with an email update within 48 hours. Disney will contact you if they have found the item or if they need further information.
Filling out the form as soon as you realize the item is missing will allow Disney’s incredible Cast Members to work toward reuniting you with your lost items straight away. Disney has even created a helpful video to walk you through how the process works. Check it out below:
Once found, Disney will hold highly valuable items like wallets, credit cards, prescription glass and cameras for 90 days. Less valuable items like sunglasses, toys, clothes or hats will be held for 30 days. Once found, it is the guest’s responsibility to contact Disney and organize to be reunited with you lost item.
Items Lost at a Walt Disney World Resort:
For items lost at a Walt Disney World Resort, guests SHOULD NOT follow the steps above and instead get in touch with the Lobby Concierge as the hotels have the own Lost and Found procedures in place.
Items Lost on Disney’s Magical Express Airport Shuttle Service:
If you lost valuable items getting to and from Orlando International Airport via Disney’s Magical Express shuttle service then there is a different process to follow. If an item has been lost for less then 30 minutes it is advised that you call: 866.599.0951. If the items were lost longer than 30 minutes ago there is a different number: 407.423.5566.
