Everyone is always asking, “When is the best time to visit Walt Disney World?” To me, anytime is a magical time to visit! But, if you are looking for new exciting experiences and possibly some lower crowds, now more than ever is the perfect time to visit!
While it might be hot in the Summer months at Walt Disney World, in the past few years, the crowds during the summertime have been a little lower than in previous years. Lower crowds also COULD mean more discounts and lower prices. But, that’s not all! There are six experiences that make the next several months the best time to visit Walt Disney World. 1. Celebrate Disney’s Hollywood Studios 30th Anniversary
May 1, 2019 marks 30 years of Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World! And, to celebrate, a new nighttime show will debut called “Wonderful World of Animation.” Once the sun goes down, Guests will experience 90 years of Disney animation through state-of-the-art projection technology with the new show! 2. Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy Rolls into Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Rev your engines ladies and gentlemen! The new interactive Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy zooms into Disney’s Hollywood Studios tomorrow, March 31. Guests are invited to jump into the “Cars” universe in this first-of-a-kind show. Ka-Chow!

3. Take Part in Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration at the Magic Kingdom
Have you had a chance to take your picture with Mickey and Minnie in their 90th Birthday celebration outfits yet? If not or if you are ready to go back again, Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration continues on at the Magic Kingdom until September 30, 2019. While visiting Mickey and Minnie in the Town Square Theater, make sure to sign the 90th birthday guest book.
Also making now more than ever the best time to visit Walt Disney World and the Magic Kingdom for Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration is the limited-edition “Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street party. Don’t forget to take a break and enjoy some of the Surprise Celebration food and beverage options along with shopping for some new merchandise.
4. Celebrate “The Lion King’s” 25th Anniversary at Animal Kingdom
There are several ways to celebrate 25 years of the iconic “The Lion King” movie currently at Animal Kingdom. Take part in the “Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party,” snap a photo with one of the several “The Lion King”-themed photo ops throughout the Park, and of course, take in the best live show in all of the World – “Festival of the Lion King.”
Richly-hued flowers and floating gardens adorn the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. The festival, which runs March 6-June 3, 2019 at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., features dozens of character topiaries, stunning floral displays, gardening seminars and the Garden Rocks concert series – all included in regular Epcot admission. 5. Take Part in the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival
Have I given you enough reasons that now is the best time to visit Walt Disney World? Well, I have more and this one might be my favorite – the International Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot! Currently in session and going until June 3, 2019, this year’s Festival features four new Outdoor Kitchens, a must-see Bo Peep topiary, and a new Play Full Garden.
To pump up your visit to the Epcot Interntaional Flower & Garden Festival make sure to take in one of the Garden Rocks concerts. This year, the concert series has been expanded to to seven nights a week with performances by TobyMac, Steven Curtis Chapman, Colin Hay of Men at Work, and many more!
Star-Lord and Gamora, from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movies take guests on a musical journey through the cosmos in the Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! show at Epcot. Featuring hits from Star-Lord’s Awesome Mixtapes – fun and favorite tunes from the two movie soundtracks – the show takes place through Aug. 18. (David Roark, photographer)
6. Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! Returns to Epcot
I’m excited to announce that the popular Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! will reurn to Epcot for another Summer on June 14, 2019. Awesome Mix Live! features Star-Lord, Gamora and their alien band for an intergalactic concert sure to send you into the cosmos. Guests can catch the rad show at Epcot until August 18, 2019.
