Ultimate Guide to Disney Springs’ Earl of Sandwich
One of my all-time favorite places to eat when I visit Walt Disney World is the Earl of Sandwich. Disney’ Springs’ Earl of Sandwich is located in the Disney Springs Marketplace and serves up some amazing sandwiches. I eat there at least once every time I go. It’s a quick service location with lots of indoor and outdoor seating and a cute vibe, so it’s a great place to grab a quick bite to eat. The theming of the restaurant comes from the story behind the making of the sandwich.
The story says that “in 1762, John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, invented the meal that changed dining forever. As the story goes, he was playing cards and did not want to leave the gaming table to eat. He asked for a serving of roast beef to be placed between two slices of bread, so he could eat with his hands.” The inside of the restaurant looks like an old parlor like the one where the sandwich was invented.
The Food
Disney Springs’ Earl of Sandwich serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For breakfast they serve hot sandwiches, made-to-order omelets, oatmeal, parfaits, and a variety of fruits and muffins. Until recently I didn’t even know they were open for breakfast since Disney Springs doesn’t open until 10am. I have yet to experience their breakfast, but I’m sure that it’s delicious.
For lunch and dinner, they serve hot sandwiches, salads, soups, wraps, and a variety of sides. The sandwiches are obviously their shining stars so here are a few of my favorites.
The Hawaiian BBQ
The Hawaiian BBQ is made with grilled chicken, ham, swiss cheese, pineapple, and a tangy Barbeque sauce. The sandwich is amazing! The bread is always soft and the pineapple with the sauce makes it the perfect barbecue sandwich.
The Holiday Turkey
The holiday turkey used to only be served around the holidays, but for the past few years they’ve been serving it all year round. That’s a good thing for us because it’s heaven in a sandwich. The sandwich is made with turkey, cornbread stuffing, turkey gravy, cranberry sauce, and mayo. It may sound strange, but I promise it’s wonderful. It’s all your thanksgiving favorites put in a sandwich to create you a new favorite. Once you taste it, you’ll wonder why you’ve never done this at home before.
I’ve also had a few of their side offerings. Their chips are yummy. They are kettle cooked, but not insanely crunchy like most kettle chips are. My favorite are the salt and vinegar ones, but the barbecue are also really good. They also have excellent fruity choices. Every time I’ve eaten their fruit it’s been fresh, ripe, and tasty.
Disney Springs’ Earl of Sandwich in Review
If you are a sandwich person or even if you’re not, I urge you to take the time to make your way down to the Earl of Sandwich. You must experience their wonderful sandwiches for yourself. They have a lot of options and all of them can be modified so there is something for everyone.
