Walt Disney World shines brightly during the holiday season for so many reasons. The attention to detail in all of their holiday décor is beyond perfection. From the towering Christmas trees and bushy garland, to the ‘ice’ on Cinderella Castle, Christmas at Disney is totally magical! One of my favorite things to do is head to the deluxe resorts and check out their amazing gingerbread houses. I’m always in awe of not only the detail and care given to each one, but the sheer size is mind blowing!

Take a look at Disney’s Contemporary Resort’s gingerbread house this year. It is truly a happily ever after creation!

Is that real gingerbread?

Absolutely! Here is how all of these yummy pieces were made:

• 18 Hidden Mickeys (of course)
• 655 pounds of Sugar ‘snow’
• 437 Jars of Honey
• 1001 pounds of Flour
• 27 3/4 pounds of Spices
• 428 Eggs
• 83 pounds of Rolled Fondant
• 43 pounds of Dark Chocolate
• 57 pounds of Royal Icing
• 156 pounds of Modeling Chocolate

More Fun Facts:

• 17′, 6″ Tall
• 25 Feet, 4 Inches wide
• It took over 11 days to assemble
• Over 5,000 Gingerbread Bricks were used
• 39 Contemporary Bakery Cast Members baked and assembled all of it!

No Cinderella Gingerbread House would be complete without a glass slipper which can be found at the base of one of the delicious gingerbread trees.
