Everything You Need to Know About Miniature Golf at Walt Disney World
Disney released a fantastic story this week about a guest that has played at Disney World’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf over 557 times! Dave Hartmann a Cast Member at the course has saved every scorecard from every game he’s played since January 2007. This piece reminded us just how much we love the two miniature golf courses found on Walt Disney World property.
If you’ve not had a chance to enjoy one of Disney’s two miniature golf courses yet then you don’t know what your missing! Both courses offer family fun, creative courses and a heaping dose of Disney magic. Here’s everything you need to know to incorporate a round of mini golf into your next Disney getaway.
There are two miniature golf locations at Walt Disney World: Fantasia Gardens and Fairways and Winter Summerland. Let’s take a closer look at both.
Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Minature Golf- This 18 hole course weaves its way through 5 whimsical scenes featuring some of your favorite characters from the film Fantasia including tutu-clad hippos, marching broomsticks and Merlin! The course is perfect for families and beginning golfers. You’ll absolutely love the Disney touches as you wind your way through twirling obstacles, fanciful fountains and more! Also, beware of the broomsticks who may just give you a watery surprise! The course is suitable for all golfers from aficionados to newbies and offers sand traps, bunkers, water hazards, sloping greens and more. The course is located in the Epcot Resort area of Walt Disney World resort set amongst the beautiful backdrop of the Walt Disney World Swan and Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotels. You’ll also see the Tower of Terror looming in the distance!
Winter Summerland Miniature Golf – Located in close proximity to Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, the winter wonderland theming has been carried over to this mini golf course. The course is divided into 2 camps, one the celebrates Summer and the other that will allow you to escape the Orlando heat with theming that celebrates the Holiday Season. That’s right! This miniature golf course offers 2 distinctly different 18-hold golf experiences. The Summer Course has the feeling of being on a Summery getaway with surfboards, sandcastles and palm trees. Be on the lookout for our favorites- the snapping clam shells! The Winter Course will make you feel like you are in the heart of the North Pole and features a loveable squirty snowman just waiting to catch you off guard. Other magical touches include merry obstacles featuring giant peppermints, hockey sticks and fantastical melting castle. On the last hole, golfers even receive a special message from Santa Claus!
How much does it cost to play miniature golf? – The current cost for a round of mini golf is $14 per adult and $12 per child (ages 3-9.)
I head there’s a discount if you’re staying onsite. Is this true? Yes! As part of Disney’s Magical Extras vacation package, guests staying onsite at a Walt Disney World as part of a vacation package will receive 4 vouchers per package entitling you to one 18-hole round of miniature golf. The stipulation is that you must visit the mini golf course of your choice before 4:00 PM. The voucher is good for both Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course or Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course. The voucher, as well as your Magical Extras Savings Card, are required at the time of purchase. The voucher is non-transferrable and expires at midnight on the day that you check out.
What are the operating hours for both courses? These may vary by season so it’s always good to check your My Disney Experience app. However, the courses are currently open 7-days a week from 10 am – 11pm.
How do I get to the Minature Golf Courses? – Disney’s Winter Summerland Course is adjacent to and shares a bus stop with Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Parks. Guests just need to hop on the Blizzard Beach bus from your Walt Disney World Resort and you’ll be there in no time! Fantasia Gardens miniature golf is within walking distance of any of Disney’s Epcot Resorts (Yacht Club, Beach Club and Boardwalk) as well as the Walt Disney World Swan and Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotels. For guests staying at one of Disney World’s other resorts, the best option is to hop on a bus to any of the resorts listed above (which you can do from Disney Springs or any theme park. ) Alternatively, guests staying at Port Orleans Riverside or Port Orleans French Quarter can take the water taxi to Disney Springs and from there transfer to one of the resorts on our list!
