Pixar Fest at Disneyland Launches Today
Whenever a Friday the 13th rolls around, thoughts of bad luck and ill-fated experiences taint the day. But today at Disneyland Resort, it’s all about friendship, happiness, and celebrations! Today launches the start of Disneyland Resort’s newest experience, Pixar Fest! Celebrating Disney/Pixar films is the popular play this summer not only at Disneyland, but over at Walt Disney World Resort too with the opening of Toy Story Land set for June 30th. If you’re a Toy Story fan, the new land at Hollywood Studios will thrill you, but for those die-hard fans of Pixar films, you’ve got to head out west to California to see for yourself why Pixar Fest is all the rage!
2-Park Approach
Disneyland
Both Disneyland and California Adventure Parks are getting in on the Pixar fun this summer! At Disneyland park Together Forever- the brand-new state of the art nighttime show- will take flight on April 13th! Featuring digital mapping technology that will vividly splash the images of our favorite iconic Pixar characters onto famous locations like it’s a small world, Rivers of America, and Sleeping Beauty Castle. Speaking of Sleeping Beauty Castle…don’t miss the grand finale of the show when Buzz Lightyear himself will perform a fly over unlike any before!
Disneyland is getting not only one, but two new shows in conjunction with Pixar Fest! The Pixar Play Parade makes its debut today and will continue marching down Main Street USA all summer long! Be on the lookout for characters from Toy Story, The Incredibles, Up, and, Inside Out.
Disney California Adventure Park
Remember Paint the Night? That glorious, glitzy parade that stepped off nightly at Disneyland Park awhile back? I sure do, and I’m apparently not the only one who petitioned for its return! Paint the Night makes a rare return…but this time it’s marching through California Adventure! Sorcerer Mickey leads the way like only he can, and he’s invited back all of his famous friends for an encore parade performance! If you’ve never seen the parade; brace yourself. With over one million lights, it’s bound to light up your night in ways you never thought imaginable!
Paint the Night isn’t the sole Pixar addition to Disney’s California Adventure Park as Pixar Shorts also makes its debut today! I can’t tell you much about what this experience will entail…because I don’t know! In fact, no one will know what Pixar short they will be treated to when they make their visit to California Adventure, as the shorts will rotate as the festival goes on! If you’re a multi-day guest or plan to visit multiple times this summer, be sure to check out which short is currently running in Sunset Showcase Theater!
While we all wait on baited breath for Pixar Pier’s June 23rd opening, there will be absolutely no shortage of Pixar at Disneyland Resort in the meantime! The Paradise Gardens area in Disney California Adventure Park welcomes a new Pixar-themed musical troupe along with the addition of brand new character meet and greet opportunities as well as daily activities! The events and offerings in Paradise Gardens are for everyone to enjoy, but parents, know that the activities are geared for prek-K guests!
Whenever one new attraction, show, parade, restaurant, or nighttime show is set to open, I often wonder how and when I’ll be able to fit it into my already-packed vacation schedule, so you can imagine my stress when I realized each of the aforementioned experiences begin on the same day! Don’t worry, though, if you go with a plan, you’ll be more than set, and we are more than happy to help you making that tedious itinerary for your travel party- just shoot us a message below. Personally, I’m ‘buzzing’ with anticipation for Mr. Lightyear’s castle fly-over, but I want to know what you’re most excited to see at Pixar Fest! Let us know in the comments below!
