If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog then you know that back in April, Harrison Ford caused quite a stir when attempting to land at a SoCal airport and getting a little too close for comfort with another aircraft on the runway. Well, according to a piece appearing on TMZ today, the FAA has cleared him of any charges associated with the incident. Ford who argued at the time that he failed to hear instructions from tower operator at the time of the incident. At that time, Ford was required to take a runway training course and once completed the FAA agreed to put the incident behind them.

At the time of the incident, Harrison was asked to hold short of the runway at Hawthorne Airport because a plane was on the runway. However, despite directions from tower her crossed anyway which raised the alarm with air traffic control. Footage and audio of the incident confirm that Ford did not hear the instructions and accelerated onto the runway and started crossing. Though the incident angered ground control there was no immediate threat of a collision with the plane in questions 3,600 feet away. A rep for Harrison Ford told TMZ at the time of the incident, “Mr. Ford crossed the airport’s only runway in his aircraft after he misheard a radio instruction from ATC. He immediately acknowledged the mistake and apologized to ATC for the error.”This is not the first time Harrison got into a bit of hot water while piloting a plane. Another incident occurred several years ago at John Wayne Airport when Ford accidentally landed on a taxiway. This was a very dangerous incident. Back in 2015 Ford also struggled with engine failure on a plane he was piloting and he had to make an emergency landing in a golf course but was not injured at the time. Maybe he should stick to piloting the Millennium Falcon!? This is a story that we’ll continue to follow closely here at MickeyBlog.
