Disneyland Is One Step Closer to Reopening
It’s crazy to think about but with the exception of the Downtown Disney District, the Disneyland Resort has been closed since mid-March due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. While plans for made for the Parks to begin reopening back on July 17, those plans were never made it to be reviewed by the state of California and local government and a new reopening date has not yet been announced.
However, after a recent announcement from the City of Anaheim, we might be one step closer to the Disneyland Resort reopening as it was just announced that the Orange County Health Care Agency has removed the City from the “monitoring list.”
Orange County Health Care Agency indicates were are in day 1 off California’s monitoring list. A welcome sign of progress, but there will be no immediate change. We need to keep our guard up and keep slowing the spread of cases. #anaheim #coronavirus pic.twitter.com/Bl9APV2XpK

To get off the “monitoring list,” means that there is a sign of progress in the fight against COVID-19 but does not mean that any changes will be made right away. Changes may start being made if the City stays off the list for two weeks. The City of Anaheim will now away new guidelines from the state.
While this means we sill do not have a reopening date for the Disneyland Resort, this is definitely a step in the right direction. The state of California and City of Anaheim are both working towards a phased reopening for the state and businesses, including the Disneyland Resort.
The Disneyland Resort recently cancelled all hotel reservations with an arrival date up until September 12, 2020. They are now only accepting new reservations beginning on September 16, 2020 and beyond.
Make sure to keep it here with MickeyBlog.com as we will be sure to report the official Disneyland Resort reopening date as soon as it is announced!
