Hurricane Isaias Strengthens and Swirls Towards Florida
And just like that, we have a hurricane. Hurricane Isaias continues to strengthen and make its way towards the east coast. Hurricane Warnings have been issued for the Bahamas and a Hurricane Watch has been issued now for parts of the Florida east coast.
The current models have moved much since yesterday. Florida is still in the cone. Orlando should expect some rainfall, but it’s still hard to determine how much.
Orlando could start feeling effects as early as Saturday night and into Sunday morning.
There is a risk of impacts from winds, heavy rainfall, and storm surge beginning late this weekend along the northeastern Florida coast and spreading northward along the remainder of the U.S. east coast through early next week.
This is where Disney’s Hurricane Policy comes in. Many visitors worried about potential hurricanes should read this closely as it will hopefully help to put your mind at ease.
Stay tuned with MickeyBlog for the latest on the storm and stay up to date with Disney’s hurricane policy.
Disney’s Official Hurricane Policy is as follows:
- If a Hurricane Warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center for the Orlando are OR your place of residence within 7 days of your scheduled arrival date, guests have the option of calling in advance to reschedule your vacation package or room reservations to another date.
- Under these circumstances, cancellation or change fees would not be imposed by Disney.
- Products and services provided by third-party suppliers included in your vacation (like flights and car rentals) are not refundable by Disney. You would need to contact the companies directly to find out what their individual policies are.
