Celebrate National Chocolate Milkshake Day at Disney
This September 12th is National Chocolate Milkshake Day, but wait, isn’t every day National Chocolate Milkshake Day? No? Uh oh, someone should have told us that, because we can’t seem to get enough of this frosty goodness. So let’s make it clear that we have no problem if someone wants to proclaim every day as Chocolate Milkshake Day.
In the meantime, while we wait for someone to take us up on our idea, you might be craving a chocolate shake by now. I know we are, so we worked hard at finding the best places in Walt Disney World for you to indulge in your craving (and psst, we won’t tell anyone if you have it on a day that isn’t National Chocolate Milkshake Day).
Vivoli Il Gelato – Disney Springs
You should first head over to Disney Springs and pay a visit to Vivoli Il Gelato and indulge in their chocolate gelato shake. Our mouths are watering at the mere thought of tasting this shake that is served inside a chocolate dipped waffle cone and topped with whipped cream, pistachios and chocolate sauce.
Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shope – Disney Springs
Also in Disney Springs is the one and only Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop – hey if you’re going to do chocolate we suggest that you go big or go home and you’ll do just that with Ghirardelli.
They can make you a Quake Shake which has a Ghirardelli Chocolate Bar infused your shake or a Cocoa Float, make with chilled Ghirardelli cocoa and two scoops of vanilla ice cream. There is another Ghirardelli shop in Disney California Adventure Park Pacific Wharf too in case you’re heading there on vacation instead.
Golden Oak Outpost – Magic Kingdom
Next, dusted with cocoa powder and topped with a toasted marshmallow, the Golden Oak Outpost at Frontierland in Magic Kingdom has a tasty Rocky Road shake that campers will love. It ‘looks’ like a chocolate shake so we’ll give it a pass to include it here.
The chocolate shakes at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant Disney’s Hollywood Studios are (say it with us) ‘out of this world!’ Adults who are looking to indulge just a little more will enjoy the Sci-Fi’s Orbiting Oreos Oreo Shake. It’s mixed with the luscious Godiva Chocolate Liqueur and comes with a souvenir Glow Cube – can you hold yourself back?
Okay, look, the truth is who cares if chocolate is getting all of the attention on milkshake day but you should really be indulging in all of these amazing shake flavors that Disney restaurants offer – there’s Dulce de Leche and cookie dough and – we’ll stop while you wipe the drool from your chin.
When it comes to National Chocolate Milkshake Day we don’t really who care who invented this ‘holiday’ or why they did it. We know we’d just like to thank them for letting us tip our hat to one of the best inventions on this side of ice cream.
