The website also provides interactive games, blogs, videos and information on upcoming events in the Star Wars cannon. Like the announcement of Taika Waititi directing the next Star Wars film.
History of the Phrase
In case you are wondering when the phrase “May the 4th Be With You” first started the answer might surprise you. It began in 1979, in reference to the day Margaret Thatcher took office as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. A newspaper published the phrase and it took off from there. Now, both Disney World and Disneyland have special events on May the 4th in celebration of Star Wars. It became official at Disney in 2013 (source: freepressjournal)
So, whether you are just a fan on Twitter, or you are an official Star Wars character, or maybe a cast member at Disney no one will ever see May the 4th in the same way. Just remember, especially in a time where so many are suffering , we all wish you better times and “May the 4th (or Force) Be With You”.
