BREAKING NEWS: Florida Man Facing Trespassing Charges For Camping On Discovery Island
A paradise was how one man described his recent stay at Walt Disney World. The problem is he wasn’t supposed to be there! A Florida man was recently charged with trespassing after Walt Disney Security found him camping out on Discover Island. This according to a report from ClickOrlando.com.
Discovery Island is now the stuff of Disney lore. One welcoming visitors, this Island is now closed to the public with buildings that once housed visitor attractions abandoned.
Orange County Deputies said they were called to 4301 N. World Drive Thursday after Richard McGuire, 42 had bee spotted on the island property.
It required quite a lot of manpower to find McGuire on the abandoned island including a search on foot, by boat and by helicopter before they were finally able to arrest him.
Despite authorities using a loudspeaker to located McGuire he said he didn’t hear a thing as he was sleeping in one of the buildings that remain on the island. He went on to describe the island as a “tropical paradise” according to reports! According to the arrest report, McGuire also told the deputies that he hadn’t realized the property as off-limits and that he was several days into a week-long stay.
He was officially charged with trespassing on posted property and banned from ANY Walt Disney World property. Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for the latest Disney news and updates.
