ICYMI: Chris Pratt & Tom Holland Talk Onward on GMA
As of when Tom Holland and Chris Pratt spoke to Good Morning America — in a clip that aired on March 6 — Spider-Man’s alter ego had not yet seen Onward.

Asked about the film, Holland admitted, “I haven’t actually seen it yet.”
“They don’t let Tom see it,” said a very big brother-sounding Pratt, who plays Star-Lord for Marvel. “They know he’ll spoil it.”
Of course, the younger actor is known for letting secrets slip around the Avengers/Spider-Man sets.
Holland agreed, saying, “Yes, they know I’ll spoil it, but now I get to watch it now at the premiere with all the fans.
“So I’ll be crying with everyone else,” he added. “We can all cry in solidarity.”
As of this evening, the film has an amazing 86% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 96% audience score.
LA Weekly’s Asher Luberto remarked in his review, “Because director Dan Scanlon pulls from his own experience as a younger brother who lost his father at an early age, the intensity and honesty here transcends animation. The images on screen might not be real, but the emotions feel genuine.”
Yeesh.
That sadness prediction had me shelve Onward until I was ready to be purposefully sad (as the anniversary of my grandfather’s passing was this past weekend), but I am ready to take the plunge and cry alongside Chris and Tom.
Although I certainly won’t look as cool doing so.
