Reports: Fire At Magic Kingdom; Pete’s Silly Sideshow & Big Top Souvenirs Closed
Laugh if you like, but one of my favorite spots in the Magic Kingdom is Pete’s Silly Sideshow.
Nestled in the Magic Kingdom’s Storybook Circus area, Pete’s is the perfect spot for parents with young children to seek calm, cool refuge. Emphasis on cool (as in temperature). Each of my three sons spent quality time in this area during almost all of our visits.
Unfortunately, reports — including the below from wdwmagic.com — tell us that a fire has affected the area, shuttered the store, and moved the meet and greet.
Outlets who have reported all say the same thing; that fire, most likely occurring in the shop, closed the Big Top Souvenirs and displaced the meet and greet.
There’s been no official word from Disney World, although there are barricades up.
Here’s hoping that my kids won’t be disappointed when we head to the Magic Kingdom later this month. In the meantime, here’s hoping that these pics from visits past can be replicated in the short run.

Here’s hoping Pete’s Silly Side Show reopens @WaltDisneyWorld soon! So many beautiful memories during our #disneyworld vacations… @WDWGuestService #MinnieMouse pic.twitter.com/eAd3buM15p
