Photo Tour of Tri-Circle-D Ranch
Walt Disney loved to create; that’s no secret. His passion for learning and ultimately turning that knowledge into something completely new and exciting is why we have the Walt Disney Company. Walt’s famous belief of never truly completing a theme park is why new lands, attractions, and experiences are constantly opening at the Disney Parks around the world! We all know that Walt lived for identifying undiscovered, never-done-before, seemingly unreachable goals and making it his business to achieve them…time and time again.
Most people’s knowledge of Walt Disney stops right about there. He made some films. He opened some theme parks. End scene. The truth is, he had many interests beyond Mickey Mouse, and if you know where to look around Walt Disney World Resorts, you can learn a lot about the man who started it all!
Did you know that Walt Disney loved horses? I didn’t either! At least, not until my first visit to the Tri-Circle-D Ranch and stables at The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness! Now that I know of Walt’s love of horses, it makes sense that the animals can be seen so frequently in the parks…even if you don’t realize it! You’ve seen the horse-drawn trolley make its way up and down Main Street USA each morning, you’ve ‘awwwe’d” at the white ponies pulling Cinderella’s Coach during the Christmas parade, and you’ve never witness a Main Street USA as silent as when the Headless Horseman rides his steed during the Halloween parade.
But where do these horses sleep, eat, and live? The horses aren’t kept in the dungeons of Cinderella Castle, but at the beautiful stables out at the Fort Wilderness Campsites! Even if you aren’t a guest at the Campsites, everyone is welcome to take a bus or boat out to the Settlement Outpost for a drink at Crockett’s Tavern, a BBQ in Mickey’s Backyard…and to meet the horses of Walt Disney World Resort! If you visit during the daytime hours, you can go inside the massive stable and possibly even meet some of the stars of your favorite parade! Until your visit, though, you can learn a lot about the Walt Disney World horses by taking the following photo tour of the stables…so giddyap that scrolling finger and get to it!
