Miranda Priestly Is Set to Return For a ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ Sequel
Eighteen years after the original film hit theaters, Miranda Priestly is set to return for a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada.
Disney is reportedly working on a sequel to the 2006 film that will see Meryl Streep reprise her role as Miranda Priestly alongside her assistants Andrea Sachs (Anne Hathaway) and Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt).

The Devil Wears Prada screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna is in talks to return to write the follow-up film.
What Will ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Entail?
At this time, it’s not clear what characters from the original film will return. A report from Variety, however, says that the storyline will follow Priestly’s career trajectory as the traditional magazine industry declines.

The new story “reportedly follows Priestly as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and faces off against Blunt’s character, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs.”

The Devil Wears Prada was based on the 2003 novel by Lauren Weisberger and was both a critical and box office hit. The film managed to gross $326.7 million at the box office and earned Streep a Golden Globe award and an Academy Award nomination.
The Film’s Stars Have Nothing But Fond Memories
Blunt and Hathaway discussed The Devil Wears Prada during a recent interview for Variety’s Actors on Actors series.

“We just had a joy bomb of a time on that movie,” Blunt told Hathaway during the conversation. “I don’t know if any of us knew it was going to become what it did. It’s quoted to me every week. It will be the movie that changed my life.”
