Celebrate Mother’s Day at Walt Disney World
There isn’t another title I can think of that holds more weight than “Mom”. She’s just as happy to be by your side when you’re sick as she is to stand next to you when you’re celebrating life’s biggest moments. The person who literally gave birth to you puts you before her every single day, and I think Mom deserves nothing short of an unforgettable celebration of her unconditional love on Mother’s Day. If you choose to pamper her with spa treatments, shopping trips, and a 5-star dinner reservation or hang by her side all day, there are plenty of unique ways to let your mother know she’s the star this Mother’s Day. And if you’re visiting Walt Disney World Resort on May 13, you have so, so many options to choose from to help make her day fantastic!
Sunday Room Service
Every mother deserves a break, especially on Mother’s Day and especially on vacation! Today is all about mom, so let her know that she’s the all-day center of attention by starting her morning off right…with breakfast! One of the best ways to show your mother you appreciate her is to give her the day off from planning, cooking, and stressing, and breakfast in bed is the most relaxing way I can think of celebrating the holiday! If you’re worried about grabbing a quick breakfast in order to maximize your park time, don’t fret- room service begins early at all of Disney’s Deluxe Resort Hotels.
Your One-Stop Gift Shop
If you didn’t have time to pack your suitcase and get out to buy mom a gift before you left for your vacation, Disney Springs is basically a one-stop shopping destination that I can guarantee will have the perfect gift for your mother. If she’s a fashionista, brands Lily Pulitzer and Lucky Brand will have what you’re after. If she likes to accessorize with a little sparkle, look no further than Pandora and Alex and Ani’s display cases. If your mom prefers an evening run over a night on the town, you can pick up her newest go-to workout attire at Under Armour and of course, any Disney-crazed mother would fawn over anything from World of Disney!
Sweets and Treats
Mother’s Day or not, the sweets and treats at Walt Disney World Resort are not to be missed no matter what day you’re visiting! There are so many to choose from that it’s impossible to narrow the list, but I have a feeling my own mother would love a treat that is both beautifully-designed and delicious. These are my go-to options:
- Rose Gold Millennial Pink Cupcake- Sunshine Seasons
- Champagne with chocolate Mickey ear hat- Amorette’s Patisserie
- Chocolate Truffles- The Ganachery
- Chocolate dipped strawberries- various locations
- Mini Cake- Amorette’s Patisserie
Like I said, there are far too many sweet treats available resort-wide to list here, but the ones highlighted above have been tested by yours truly for taste and presentation- both essential elements of a mom-worthy present!
Desserts to Share
Unless you’ve planned an exclusive trip for just you and your mother, chances are good that you’ve opted to bring your whole family to Walt Disney World Resort. Trust me, your mom will be expecting a dessert after dinner. Instead of choosing one of the desserts from your restaurant’s dessert menu, tell mom you’ve got a dessert surprise that will be worth waiting for. Each of these dessert options are plenty big to share 3 or 4 ways, and none of them require an advance reservation! Whichever you choose, just make sure mom gets the first bite!
- Fudge Mud Slide- Beaches and Cream (Mickey’s Favorite)
- Bread Pudding- Tambu Lounge
- Earthquake- Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop
- Create Your Own Sundae- Ample Hills Creamery
There are nearly as many unique ways to celebrate your mother at Walt Disney World as there are mothers in the world! You may be a little too late to make advance reservations, so each of the above suggestions require no advance planning- you’ll be able to walk right in to any place you choose! No one knows your mom better than you, so put your thinking cap on to create a day that’s tailor-made for her. If she loves to relax, order her breakfast in bed and offer to do the planning for dessert! If she’s a shopaholic, use the time she’s looking around to sneak away and buy her a new piece of jewelry from Pandora and pick her up a little something sweet on your way back to meet her! There are so many ways to customize the day, and I want to hear what you’ve come up with! Let us know in the comments, and Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers out there…we really wouldn’t be who we are without you!
