Historic Snow White Cafe Closes in Hollywood
Another piece of Hollywood history has been lost, as the Snow White Cafe has closed.
Located at 6769 Hollywood Boulevard, the Snow White-themed eatery had served patrons for 78 years.

Originally founded in 1946, the cafe served American cuisine and was inspired by Disney’s 1937 animated classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
“Welcome to Snow White Cafe, a Hollywood institution that has been serving up delicious food and drinks since 1946. Our restaurant is home to stunning murals that were crafted by the very hands that gave life to the Disney classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” the restaurant’s official description read.

The Restaurant’s Connection to Disney
The restaurant was perhaps best known for its mural of Snow White above the door. The artwork said goodbye to diners with the caption, “We hope we have pleased you.”
There were other paintings of the Seven Dwarfs themselves located throughout the dining room. These were purportedly painted by Disney animators.

“The cafe was originally opened by a friend of Walt Disney’s, who asked Disney animators to paint murals on the walls,” the restaurant’s website says. “The murals depict scenes from the film ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ and they are still on display today.”
The End of an Era
The news of the restaurant’s closure was reported in the Vintage Los Angeles Facebook group. There, one member shared a photo of the diner’s gutted interior with a caption reading, “Goodbye Snow White Cafe.”
According to a report by KTLA5, calls to the Hollywood restaurant went to a number that appeared to have been disconnected.
If the Snow White Cafe has indeed met its end, the restaurant is another piece of Hollywood (and tangentially Disney) history that has been lost.
