Disney Shares Never-Before-Seen Photos of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure’s Creation
As we are now just days away from the official opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at the Magic Kingdom, Disney is celebrating by releasing never-before-seen photos from throughout the attraction’s development.
From the beginning, Imagineers wanted to infuse Tiana’s Bayou Adventure with the spirit of New Orleans.
In this photo, Imagineers Charita Carter, Dustin Eshenroder, and Ted Robledo visit local blacksmith Darryl Reeves in Louisiana.
The Sounds of New Orleans
One aspect of New Orleans culture that the Bayou Adventure team knew they wanted to highlight was music.
With this in mind, the musical styles of New Orleans permeate the new attraction. Even the bayou’s critters get in on the fun.
The music of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was put together by Terance Blanchard and PJ Morton. Here is a cool shot of Blanchard in Dooky Chase’s restaurant in New Orleans.
On a trip to New Orleans, PJ talked with Imagineer John Dennis about the new attraction’s soundtrack.
Introducing Malaika Favorite
During a separate visit to the Big Easy, Carmen Smith, senior vice president, Creative Development – Product/Content & Inclusive Strategies, and Charita Carter met with local artist Malaika Favorite.
Imagineers also met with New Orleans artist Sharika Mahdi, from whom they commissioned four pieces of art. The theme of the collection was family in Tiana’s story. This photo was appropriately taken by Sharika’s mother!
Later, Sharika got to see her artwork in the attraction’s queue. The mural can be found on two of the building’s exteriors.
The Attraction Comes Together
Speaking of the queue, Disney shared a couple images of key details being added to the attraction’s exterior.
One of these details includes a weather vane handcrafted by Louisiana’s master blacksmith, Darryl Reeves.
Reeves is a 3rd generation master blacksmith and Vietnam Veteran.
We’re Almost There
A major milestone for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure came earlier this year. Here is a never-before-seen photo of that historic moment.
In just eight days, guests will finally be able to see these details in person when Tiana’s Bayou Adventure officially opens! I, for one, can’t wait.
